Brimming with environmental, social and ecological benefits, this outstanding single origin coffee supports some 300 coffee farmers in a reforestation project around the Mount Elgon region of Uganda. The project provides a safeguard for Mount Elgon National Park and Central Forest – one of the most diverse ecosystems in Africa – by reducing pressure on resources. The coffee rewards farmers in and around Mount Elgon to protect the forests by planting trees and reducing a dependency on clearing forests for firewood, which in turn protects hundreds of animal species including forest monkeys and antelope which graze on the mountainside.
Each bag has a unique tracking number to show the farmer’s on-going conservation efforts at the cloud forest of origin. For every bag sold, local farmers plant trees to support the forest and their families. All Source coffees are offset using reforestation carbon credits and are 100% traceable to the forest community conservation project.
